Weightroom Orientation
Weightroom orientations are suggested for those who are new to weight training or for those who may need a refresher course on how to use the equipment properly. This orientation will also help teach/correct your form and alignment.
Fitness Assessment
The purpose of a fitness assessment is to evaluate your cardiovascular fitness, body composition, flexibility, and muscular strength and muscular endurance. The following tests are used to evaluate your level of fitness:
- Bench step test (cardiovascular fitness)
- Skinfold measurements with calipers (body fat percentage)
- Sit & reach (flexibility)
- Upper body bench press (muscular strength)
- One minute sit-up test (muscular endurance)
With the information gathered from these tests, the Exercise Coordinator will be able to develop an exercise program specifically for your needs. The fitness assessment is also a good way to chart your progress when taken several times over a few months. Please allow one hour for testing and consultation. Wear loose comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Call 262-6314 to make an appointment.
Personalized Training Program
Meet with the Exercise Coordinator to get your personalized training program. The exercise program developed for you will be sensible, progressive, and designed with your goals in mind. Call 262-6314 for an appointment.
Prenatal Fitness Consultation
Research shows that moms-to-be who exercise regularly are more likely to have shorter labors, fewer complications, and quicker recoveries after birth. Exercise has other benefits as well; it can help keep your weight gain to a healthy level, give you energy, ease backaches, and also prevent maternal gestational diabetes and high blood pressure. The babies benefit too!! Babies of exercising moms are less likely to be premature or have complications.
